After six wonderful years serving the Southern Maine community, I have made the difficult decision to close Grace Health Primary Care at the end of 2026.

This was not an easy decision. Grace Health has been one of the most rewarding endeavors of my career, and caring for each of you has been an incredible privilege. Together, we built a practice centered on relationships, accessibility, and the belief that primary care can—and should—be better.

When I founded Grace Health, my goal was never simply to open another medical practice. I wanted to explore a different way of delivering healthcare: one that removed unnecessary barriers between patients and their physician and allowed for thoughtful, personalized, and proactive care. Direct Primary Care made that possible, and I remain incredibly proud of what we accomplished together.

Over the past several years, however, I’ve also become increasingly aware of the challenges facing healthcare on a much larger scale. While Grace Health has allowed me to provide exceptional care to a relatively small number of patients, I’ve found myself wanting to make a broader impact.

As a solo physician, there are limits to what one practice can offer. Expanding access for underserved communities, providing robust language services, integrating behavioral health, coordinating specialty care, and improving healthcare delivery across an entire population all require resources and collaboration that extend beyond the walls of a small independent clinic.

Because of that, I have accepted a position with Martin’s Point Health Care. This new role will allow me to continue caring for patients while also helping improve primary care delivery for thousands of people across our region. It’s an opportunity that aligns closely with the mission that inspired me to start Grace Health in the first place: making healthcare better.

I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside leaders at Martin’s Point over the years and have been consistently impressed by their commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement. No healthcare system is perfect, but I truly believe this is an organization filled with people who are working hard every day to make healthcare more accessible, compassionate, and effective.

Grace Health Primary Care will remain open through December 31, 2026, and our team is committed to making this transition as smooth as possible.

Beginning in 2027, I will welcome former Grace Health patients who wish to establish care with me at Martin’s Point, and I would be honored to continue caring for you there.

I also recognize that many of you chose Grace Health specifically because it was a Direct Primary Care practice. If you’d prefer to remain within the DPC model, I completely understand. There are several outstanding Direct Primary Care practices throughout Maine, and we’ll be happy to help you identify options and facilitate the transfer of your medical records.

Although Grace Health is coming to a close, I don’t view this as the end of the work we started together. Rather, it’s the beginning of a new chapter—one where I hope to apply the lessons we’ve learned at Grace Health to improve healthcare for even more people.

To every patient who placed your trust in me over the past six years: thank you. It has been an extraordinary privilege to be part of your lives, to celebrate your successes, to support you through challenges, and to care for your families. Your trust has meant more to me than I can adequately express.

I look forward to continuing this journey—just in a new way.
